1956 Ford Thunderbird Hard Top Convertible- - An American Classic. 1956 Ford Thunderbird in Original color White on Red interior. Just 38, 842 original two-owner miles. 312c.i. V8 Engine Automatic trans (rare!) with Barrell. Fender skirts, wheel covers, whitewalls. The 312 cubic inch engine was professionally rebuilt in 2008. Air Conditioning. Lots of receipts and some restoration pics on file, shop manuals. Hardtop cover, fender covers, original air cleaner. Very nice classic T-Bird that presents in fabulous condition throughout and runs/drives excellent. This Thunderbird is high-quality example that will be great addition to any garage or collection.This 1956 Thunderbird is very well-preserved example of the classic American roadster. It has been very well-kept and cared for, and has the highly desirable factory "port-hole" windows hardtop. Ford's Thunderbird was created to act as retort to the Chevrolet Corvette, but rather than becoming rival to the European sports cars imported into the United States, Ford created completely new market segment around the Thunderbird the personal luxury car. While performance car in its own right, the Thunderbird focused more on comfort than speed. total of 53,166 units were produced for the three model years 1955-1957, with only 16,155 made in 1956.
