Ford Galaxy Ghia 1.9 TDDI 2003 for sale
We bought this car in November 2012 for £3000. At this point it had afull service history (available for you to see) including recent cambeltchange. We intended to drive it for years and then sell for about £1000 andthen repeat the process. However this vehicle has done about 200 milescommuting each week (Mainly M5, back and forth to Bristol Cheltenham) and asummer trip to Europe each year without ever breaking down or giving us causeto sell it. We often take seats out to go to the tip, carry bikes about or justto reduce weight when commuting. Since Nov 2012 we have had about £500 year work done on the car to getit through MOT's or to replace tyres (some of these receipts are availablealthough some are not). have changed the oil and oil filter every 6-8000miles which think has paid off. last changed it on about 177,000 miles. Ihave changed the fuel filter about every 20,000 miles and the last time wasabout that long ago think.  The car has never let us down in getting from to B. It has however letus down in numerous other ways. will list few of the most obvious ones herebut if these issues matter to you then please come and inspect the vehiclebefore buying.1.    The CD multi-changer doesn’t allow you to skip forwards, only backwardsand disc won’t play.2.     The rear driver’sside window doesn’t close fully. We don’t know why and have settled for havingit slightly ajar rather than risk it opening further without our being able toclose it again.3.     message saying “Engine Workshop” flashes up frequently for the last two and half years. We obviouslytook it to our garage when it appeared and they concluded that nothing obviouswas wrong. We have driven it for and half years since without incident. There is another smaller yellow warning light (glowplug think) that has come on for even longerand the garage thought it related to the braking. They did fix something to dowith the braking but the light stayed on so they had another look andthen said to ignore it as all was fine. Three years later all is still fine.4.     It needs goodclean. emptied it of all our stuff this morning but my wife has gone down toBristol now before had the chance to make it look nicer. She will then bedropping it off at her parent’s driveway in Malmesbury from where the car canbe collected (We don’t have off road parking).5.     The bumper is blue.In December 2014 someone drove at slow speed into the carwhen my wife and daughter where in it. The bumper and bonnet needed replacingso the insurance wrote the car off. As we were still driving the car we askedto keep the car as well as most of the money and then replaced the bumper andbonnet ourselves. The upshot is the bumper is blue, the bonnet needs someone topull the leaver by the drivers seat whilst second person unclips the bonnetoutside and the car is recorded as category (I think?) write off. (It hassince been through several MOTS so we are pleased we decided to fix it)6.     The wing mirror onthe passenger side is held on by duct tape.7.    The red brake light cover at the rear is stuck together by red tape. The list could go on fair bit longer. Basically we haven’t reallycared what the car looks like as long as it is safe, dependable and not goingto cost us too much money each year.We are selling because, except for the summer holidays, we only reallyuse car for commuting and it is quite large for that. It does about 44-47mpgon the motorway commutes though which has been good. Last month we took our son andall his furniture to university in Holland and so now that is done we areselling it. It was also not so good for him to learn to drive in and now wehave two other teenagers looking to learn to drive in the next few years wewant something smaller for them to learn in. don’t know what we’ll do for oursummer holidays next year but maybe we’ll buy car like this one off ebay! Please come and view the car if you have any questions doubts. The TWOkeys, V5, audio code, service history, Key code etc will be at my in-laws withthe car and they will kindly hand all this stuff over to whoever buys it and has paid by paypal. Please know what youare buying before you buy it. To help with this you should look up the MOThistory for the car at https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/with reg: AK03 RGZ. Comes with free Haynes Manual! Thank you for considering our car. We hope whoever buys it enjoys it formany more miles yet.
On 09-Oct-17 at 16:13:28 BST, seller added the following information:Hi The car has been sat for few weeks and the battery had lost charge when we went to start it today. We jump started it easily of course but did want to be upfront that the battery may lose charge quicker than is normal and at years old (we got new one when we bought it years ago) it may need replacing sooner rather than later. When you come to collect it we will make sure it all starts fine but could offer no assurances obviously about the battery health beyond that. If you have already bid and would like your bid being removed in the light of this new information then just let me know by the end of Monday and I'll take your bid off. Cheers. On 09-Oct-17 at 16:20:20 BST, seller added the following information:Hi The previous note should have also said that the battery was jump started few days before today as well but we were not sure whether we had really left it running long enough to hold any significant charge at that time. So, as say, the battery feels like it could do with good long run to recharge and it may or may not be needing replacement sooner rather than later. Thanks.
