All things must pass. am selling my '56 Merc M800. My father bought this truck new off the lot January 1956 from Jessiman Motors, Port Arthur (now Thunder Bay) and worked this truck until July 1957. He sold it to Mr. John Salmijarvi who in turn worked the truck for the township of McIntyre (now part of Thunder Bay) until 1972 when the truck was last licensed for the road. The truck was then used as yard truck on his property. obtained the truck 1993 and have since then spent the last 23 years tinkering, fixing, moving, storing, and everything else that goes on with owning something like this, but now it's time to move on and see someone that has the space and facilities to work on this truck. It has 332 cid V-8 with Holley bbl. carb. speed transmission with speed rear end. Factory tach in dash. Brantford dump box with Chelsea PTO and hoist. The windshield is cracked and taped in right now to help keep the elements out as it not the proper size windshield for the truck (I found out the hard way that '56 is not the same size as '57). The truck starts,runs, moves, and stops, but it's not roadworthy so don't bother asking if it will make 500 mile trip on it's own. This truck is Ontario registered in my name and has clear title. The winner of this auction is fully responsible for shipping. The truck is currently being stored in my back yard/driveway right now (which is the size of postage stamp) so can hold it for reasonable time (Christmas is not reasonable time) until shipping/payment arrangements are secured. 500 dollar non refundable down payment required within 48 hours from the end of auction.
